| Congrats Tamarra & Monte' |
I had the privilege to be present to attend my baby sister's wedding. It was a celebration and everything was done not only in decency and in order but in love. If our mother was present, she would have beamed with light so bright and it would have overflowed out into the crowd of witnesses.
Instead of her being there, God's presence was there and he truly smiled on both my sister and her now hubby. You were unable to have the privilege of attending but here is a poem I was asked to write as well as read while the lovely wedded couple to be lit the remembrance candle for our mother that was called from this life to glory Oct 2002.
A MOTHER’S LOVE
BY
Dana L Christmas-McCain
My Daughter,
As you light this candle in remembrance of me
Baby girl, don’t cry for me
I’m in heaven delightfully kneeling at my Lord and Savior’s feet
LEAH,
As you light this candle today
Yes you were my youngest child
May the light be reminiscent of the light of God’s Word as He
leads you and guides you all the way
TT-LEAH,
May the love I exposed you to be a glimpse of the greatest
Source imaginable
The same love that motivated Christ to the Cross and offers
salvation to the lost
Lil Mama,
Know that God is pleased with your decision
Much like Christ is your foundation in faith, may your marriage be
built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and his righteousness
Montrelle,
He who finds a wife, finds a good thing
God finds favor with you my son
Be good to my daughter, she may be your wife but remember she
first belongs to the Lord
Be careful how you treat her
Love my daughter as Christ loves the church
Tamarra,
The young woman and now a beautiful bride to be
Standing before a crowd of witnesses
Most importantly before the Lord’s precious eyes to see
Light this candle in jubilation
It truly is a celebration
Don’t just smile but may the joy from your heart beam and shout
out, “My oh my, What a joyous occasion!”
Tamarra,
Remember, this is no time to cry for me
I love you my daughter
I love you my child
Leah, my baby, TT
Now a beautiful bride to be!
To God be the Glory!
Amen
