UNAPOLOGETICALLY A WOMAN!

UNAPOLOGETICALLY A WOMAN!

BY D. Christmas-McCain

Yes, it’s obvious
I’m a woman
Unapologetically a woman
Didn’t mean to step on any one’s toes
But you know these size 11 heels can cover much ground
I might not say much
But let a sistah get inspired
From that Holy Ghost fire
I’m a woman
Unapologetically
A Woman of God
Yeah, That's Me
The Gospel
Yes, the Good News I’ve been entrusted
Remember these size 11
If you reject the message
I’ll just shake the dust off my feet and keep trucking
I’m a woman
Unapologetically
I’m a woman of God
Unapologetically
An evangelist not by limitation
Ordained before my creation
It may be perceived there is a monopoly on this thing called preaching
The Spirit distributes the gifts
I’m just saying
Not he
But
Both men and women was His Spirit poured out upon
Praise God there came deliverance from this oppression
Yes, along with salvation
Jesus came with a message of justice
My God when she proclaims
The Word as she cries out
The wilderness maybe dark but light you will find in her corner
Never will it go out
In earth she will proclaim in her corner
She’s me
A woman
Unapologetically
A woman of God that’s me
Words seasoned with salt
Word hidden in my heart
The will and the desire
He gave with love shed abroad
Dying to the flesh daily
A sistah set a part
Fire in my eyes but no longer for the money
He supplies all of my needs
And he keeps me from hearing a word from my enemies
I am a woman
A woman of God that’s me
Unapologetically
Thank God for seminary
That reinforces there is no man or woman in Christ
We are all but one in Christ
Don’t get fixated on my exterior
I’m a called servant to the ministry
God never held my sex against me
He called me wig and all
He called me scars and all
He called me and never called my femaleness as a fault
He called and I answered
Whether man refuses
Know ladies that God opens and closes the doors
And yes, if He called you
Yes, if he hired you to preach liberty and salvation to dying souls
Then He is going to lead you to the place He purposed for you to serve
Yes even this HE will work out together for good
Yes, HIM
The Author and Finisher of your faith, our faith, my faith
Stay prayerful my sistah
Stay in the Word my sistah
Trust HIM
Not him
Love from a woman
A Woman of God
Unapologetically
Unapologetically a Woman
Yes, I’m she
The one HE blew life into
Just as HE blew into he
The same HE that equipped me and will continue to equip this woman of God
Yes me
Unapologetically
And when you don’t know how HE is going to do it
Know that it’s all a part of His mystery
But remember
HE promised to never leave you nor forsake you
With regards to his promises
God never slacks
He never sleeps
Man may slumber
But remember
God loves you my daughters
And whatever HE called you to do
In other words
HE who started a good work in you
Will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ
Be encouraged my sistah
Remain faithful and fruitful my sistah
Hold on to that which you were taught my sistah
Trust in Him beloved
Pray for him beloved
Forgive him beloved
May he too be enlightened that co-laborer can also mean
A sistah in a skirt
Yes I know my worth
I'm defined in Him
I’m a Woman
Unapologetically
A Woman of God
That’s me!

"Beauty in the Eyes"

I just read an article this morning in the NY Times about the Brazilian Blow-Out with its extreme negative effects it has not only on the customers but the stylist applying the product to the hair.  These stylist are suffering from nose bleeds, breathing problems, and eye irritations.  They literally have to wear a mask in order to apply the chemical to the scalp.  Man, what is it doing to the scalp, the brain?  Not to mention it costs $125 to $300.  It states that the treatment can go as high as $700 in some salons.  Ouch!  Yes, we pay for poisons, hmmmm but we justify it by saying, "Beauty has a cost."

Why do we go to such great extremes to "look-good?"

If we are to be conformed to the image of God, them why do we take such extreme measures to "beautiful" the outer man or woman with compromising the inner man or woman that is eternal?

If the bible says, "we are fearfully and wonderfully made," then why do we continue to subscribe to an industry that promotes the production of products that possibly have the potential to harm us?

Is beauty truly worth sacrificing our health for?  Is beauty worth the risk of endangering our young daughters scalps and as we stroll down the street to the corner salon as you both await the application of a perm?

Let us admit today that we do so out of convenience.  We do so out of not having to deal with the "hassle" of doing our children's hair let alone our own.

Will we continue to apply the creamy crack while enduring the scabs and bleeding because we "know" in the end there will be a head of flowing locks void of "kinks"?

Well, in the end, with your hair fried and dyed....when the bridegroom returns will you be standing there before Him with "oil" in your lamp or a container of your favorite relaxer?  Oh, this message is for me too especially now the new growth is settling in, lol.

We really don't know the effects of the "no-lye" relaxers but it's the lie that we believe because it does burn, right?

If when we believe that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in the eye of all that is beautiful, GOD then can we shed off societies views of beauty and its so-called remedies for beautifying God's creation that God already deemed fearfully and wonderfully made!

It starts off with the perm, but then if we had the means we would augment our face and our bodies with plastic surgery, botox, etc.  What God has deemed as beautiful, we choose to accept the philosophy of the world and patch up what He made perfectly.  We call it cosmetic surgery and pay for someone acting as God to "correct" what the Potter had already formed and said was good.

Sell that which you have bought into that led you to believe how God has created you is not enough and buy into the truth of His word that says, everything that God created was good.  If you were a gift, or rather when we receive a gift do we tend to alter them, no....we accept them and are grateful for them or at least we should be.

Look at yourself in the mirror of God's holy word and see Him as He righteously sees you.  He fashioned you when you were knitted together in your mother's womb.  You are a gift in it of itself.  Accept yourself for who God created you to be whether a dark-skinned African queen or if you have skin as milky white or as creamy custard.

No longer buy into the lies that God is withholding something good from you.  Start praying and asking God to help you see the beauty that He sees.  Ask Him to give you a converted pair of eyes that see as He sees.

God has promised that He would not withhold any good thing from us especially when it comes to conforming us into the image of His Son which is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.

You want a make over?
You want to look beautiful?
Would you like to enhance your beauty?

Try this make-up on for size, lol.
You won't find it in Sephora, Macy's, etc.  I guarantee that you won't find it because it's eternal.  The world cannot manufacture it because it comes from God.

Apply love in your heart, and while you are at it, get some kindness and patience.  Self-control will keep you from messing up that beautiful face in a tussle with a sister or brother.  No need for vasoline or pulling out your sneakers because you know that the weapons of this warfare are not carnal.  Pick up your Word and pray.  These are the most effective tools of warfare especially when society tells you that the image you see in the mirror needs some work or is not pretty enough.

Try some peace, joy, faithfulness, goodness and longsuffering.  Girl, it's one size fits all.  No need for alterations.  God promised to preserve us if we see beauty in His eyes.  The beauty is in the truth of His Word by which we apply to our lives and reflect that marvelous light--the beauty for the world to see.

We will be a sweet-smelling savor to the Lord.....beautiful, huh.
A sweet smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God for it is only the eyes of God that matter.  The eyes of God that we ought to measure true beauty for it is in his holiness where we find it is described as beautiful.  This is the highest measuring rod of beauty we can attest to in my opinion.

I am well aware that this particular scripture is taken out of context but for this particular article, I do want to lift up the portion that speaks to "Don't let your beauty be simply outward--arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel. (This could apply to men as well).  The scripture further exhorts us to rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. (1 Peter 3:3-4)

Sounds like all we need are our white robes, lol!

WHAT CAN I SAY?

IT HAS TRULY BEEN A WHILE SINCE MY LAST POST.  I NEGLECTED TO POST THE SECOND PART TO MS DIVA PAGES BECAUSE I SIMPLY WASN'T MOVED TO WRITE ON IT JUST YET.  I AM LEARNING NOT TO RUSH INTO MY WRITING PROJECTS.  EVERYTHING THAT I PRODUCE IS A REFLECTION OF GOD AND HE IS THE LAST PERSON I WOULD WANT TO REFLECT IN A NEGATIVE LIGHT. PLUS, WHEN YOU READ, WHOEVER READS MY BLOG, I WANT THERE TO BE SUBSTANCE.

SO YES, THIS SEMESTER HAS BEEN CRAZY!  I AM TAKING CHURCH HISTORY PART I, THEOLOGY & THEOLOGY AND URBAN YOUTH MINISTRY.  PLUS I'M WORKING ON WRITING MY BOOK IN ADDITION TO BEING A MOMMY AND WIFE, LOL.

THE LORD CONTINUES TO BE GRACIOUS TOWARDS ME.  HE HAS MET EVERYONE OF MY NEEDS BUT WHAT CAN I SAY--HE PROMISED HE WOULD!

I ALSO HAVE BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION TO CREATE A NEWSLETTER THAT HAS JUST BEEN PUBLISHED FOR THIS MONTH FOR THE THEOLOGY AND URBAN YOUTH MINISTRY COURSE.  IT'S MY FAVORITE CLASS CAN'T YOU TELL, LOL!

EVERYTHING THAT I WAS NOT GETTING FROM THOSE "EXPECTED PLACES" GOD WORKED IN A MYSTERIOUS WAY AND MADE WAYS OUT OF NO WAY.

TALK ABOUT A WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT!

MY HUSBAND DOES NOT COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND BUT BECAUSE I'M BEING LED BY GOD, HE TRUSTS ME.  MOST IMPORTANTLY, HE TRUSTS GOD.

I CAN'T SEE THE ENTIRE PLAN BUT GOD SAID THAT HE PLANNED TO GIVE ME A HOPE AND A FUTURE....NOT TO HARM ME.  SO WHY NOT TRUST HIM?

THANK GOD HE'S NOT LIKE MAN!  THANK GOD HE'S THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF MY FAITH!

HIS HANDS ARE THE SAFEST PLACE I CAN BE.  NO, HE DID NOT BRING ME THIS FAR TO LEAVE ME.

IN HIM I WILL PUT ALL MY TRUST!

I LOVE YOU LADIES.  I'M PREACHING DURING OUR 1/2 HOUR OF POWER NEXT TUESDAY.  PLEASE KEEP A SISTAH IN PRAYER.

UNTIL NEXT TIME....

INSTEAD OF THROWING ROCKS, OR TELLING PEOPLE TO KICK ROCKS, TEACH THEM ABOUT THE ROCK OF OUR SALVATION! BE BLESSED!

LET GOD'S LOVE COVER YOU!

I sought love but often times found lust.

Lust would have you communicate with your body and not intellectually.  Lust would have you focus on fleshly things and negate the eternal.  Lust will cause you to compromise your integrity because it feels right, it looks good, and it sounds good.  It’s sensual and temporal. It’s less filling and far from satisfying.  Lust leads to sin, and sin leads to death.

I was on my way to death!

Love on the other hand is kind, its patient it is not proud.  It is not rude, and it does not boast.  Love does not self-seek, and it is not easily angered.  Love keeps no record of wrong.  Love does not delight in evil.  Love rejoices in the truth.  Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.  Love never fails.

This LOVE I sought so diligently to find left me always feeling empty, inadequate, thirsting for more.

If you too are in search of love, and it has failed you, perhaps you came across lust perpetrating as LOVE as I once did.

LOOK HERE AT LOVE .....

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved," John 3:16-17.

I sought love from a father that loved the world more than his family and in turns, I followed his footsteps BUT LOVE=GOD,
sought after me that was lost.

Now adopted into the beloved  and not only have I gained eternal life but an eternal Father that promises to never leave me nor forsake me.

God's love covers a multitude of sins.....

LET GOD'S LOVE COVER YOU!

When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He died for your sins too!

If He is knocking on the door of your heart, let Him come and sup with you!

I pray them that read who have not accepted Christ as Lord and Savior will be compelled to do so in order to receive the God of love shed abroad in your heart!

Don't be amongst those that reject the Love of God but let Him save you from the wrath that is soon to come!

For we who are in Christ, redeem the time for the days are evil.  Please share your Christian witness with others--that's if you LOVE them!

"And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he or she who does the will of God abides forever,"  1 John 2:17.

A Passion for Life in Christ

Hey Ladies,
I was interviewed by the lovely R L Witter from the Positive Community and wanted to share the article with you on page 68.  It is titled A Passion for Life in Christ!  Be blessed!

http://issuu.com/thepositivecommunty/docs/sep_2010?viewMode=magazine&mode=embed

BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT TO THE NEXT PARTY!

LADIES, IF DUDE WANTS TO GET YOU TIPSY, MORE THAN LIKELY HE'S TRYING TO SEE WHAT'S IN YOUR PANTIES!

YOU DON'T HAVE TO DRINK TO HAVE A GOOD TIME AND IF YOU THINK TO DRINK EQUATES WITH HAVING A GOOD TIME ASK THE MANY PEOPLE WHO FOUND THEMSELVES HOVERING OVER A TOILET!  NOT CUTE!

DRINKING IN IT OF ITSELF IS NOT SINFUL, BUT DRINKING TO GET DRUNK IS (EPHESIANS 5:18 NIV) AND TO DO SO WILL PLACE YOU IN SOME VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND DANGEROUS SITUATIONS (PROVERBS 23:29-35 NLT).

REMEMBER, YOU ARE A SLAVE TO WHATEVER MASTERS YOU (2 PETER 2:19B).

IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE CONTROLLED BY ANYTHING, BE CONTROLLED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth......

LOVE YOU DIVAS!

Love...What it's not and what it is

I fell in love not because I was seduced
Or He took me out to eat and I was able to buy anything on the menu
I fell in love with Him not because He promised to take me around the world and back again
Or showered me wit diamond rings and shows at Carnegie Hall
I fell in love with Him not because He kissed me in such a way that I was left speechless
Or because of the way He held my hand
I fell in love with Him not because He swept me off my feet
But
I fell in love with Him because He died for me
I was guilty and the charges were dropped because He suffered the penalty
He hung on a tree
Became a curse for me
Humiliated He was for sinner like me
He never put me on blast
He never wagged His finger in my face because it was too busy planted up on the cross held by a nail in His palm
It should have been me up there
It should have been me whipped and bruised
It should of been me
But I received grace because divinity wrapped itself in humanity
How can I not love Him
How can I reject His love that He so willingly offers to me
He did not just say, "Daughter I love you"
But He showed me what Love would do
He taught me what Love should do
Love is what I will do

The Spirit behind the Music

I'm sorry ladies....

I am watching 106& Park and Tre Songz is on.  When I watch these older men especially promoting music that is sexually explicit to young women, high school young ladies, it saddens me.  This is no different than a pimp glamorizing sex but instead of having sex with them, you can fantasize having sex while sexing your "boo."

Not only are you out $9.99 but you are engaging in illicit and sexually explicit behavior. Any type of sex no mater what position or no matter what opening you are plugging up is sinful.

Young ladies, guard your heart, your mind, your eyes and your ears.  Be careful what entertain.  There is a spirit behind the music we listen to too!  Try the spirit by the spirit.

God is not in the business of glorifying the flesh or satisfying the lust thereof and neither should we.

If the next time you turn on the radio and you are tempted to call your man and schedule a booty call or perhaps you don't have one but practice masturbation, TURN THE MUSIC OFF!

GET ON YOUR KNEES.....

ASK GOD TO FORGIVE YOU AND TO CLEANSE YOU OF YOUR UNRIGHTEOUSNESS....

ASK GOD TO CREATE IN YOU A CLEAN HEART AND RENEW IN YOU THE RIGHT SPIRIT!

Artist today say that their main concern is to produce "good music."

Does the music qualify as "good music" if it....

a.  leads you on the dance floor to dry hump your dance partner?
b.  lead you to a sexting conversation with your boyfriend ?
c.  lead you to slip into your lingerie (why do teenagers even own lingerie is a mystery to me) and entice the person you re interested in?
d.  lead you to thinking that everyone is having sex outside of marriage so why are you saving yourself?
e.  leads you to think the only pleasure there is to be had is in the bedroom?
f.  oh, and you are lead to believe that you haven't officially celebrated your birthday unless you are pissy drunk and having sex all night long

Ladies, not all men care about your exterior and want to lay you down.  Not all men want to be with a woman that can't hold her liquor.  Not to mention, she's educated and she fears the Lord.  The way she shakes it in her jeans is not a factor he considers when he's looking for a life partner....a godly woman.  A godly man is not looking in fact but he's praying and being about the work of the Lord.

I think the saddest part about all this is that we all know the words to the songs but how many of us are excelling in school?  We hear the words and believe them but what they suggest leads not to life and excelling but worse than where we began.

God's word is true and can be trusted.  Strip the music away and read the words...seriously, what do the promote: life, and health to your body or destruction and death?

P.S  They will continue to make music like this because they know we will buy music like this.  We need to expect more.  We need to start respecting ourselves!

BOTTOMS UP.....
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT YOU'RE DIGESTING INTO YOUR HEART!

NICKI MINAJ  IS A SAD CASE BECAUSE SHE PERPETUATES THE SYSTEM THAT PIMPS HER!

LADIES, WE HAVE TO WAKE UP!

Thoughts for the day.....

You know party people, I need to correct something I wrote, we ought to always forgive even when others refuse to forgive those that we might be tempted to say are "dead to us." If we ought to be dead to anything it should be to sin and be alive to Christ.

Thought for Today:

Ladies, if he says he loves u but expects you to show your loyalty by acting outside of the will of God, you direct him to what HIM says! The steps of a good diva are ordered by the Lord! Love you ladies and have a beautiful day!

My life BUT in Your Hands

Father,
How grateful I am for life and the ability to speak life into the lives that you lead me to.  How often you remind me that it is not me but the Christ in me that I am even able to move forward and be obedient to your will.  What a relief when I don't have to take credit for the good that takes place in my life.  How humbling it is because Father you are so deserving of all the praise and all the honor.

My day was filled with a bit of disappointment but I know that even when my heart may be set on a certain thing, if you did not open that door, you have my best interest in mind.  Father, please continue to teach me to trust in your providential care and love for me.

You know what is best for me and while I pray you comfort me as well as wiping away the tears from eyes.

All I want or desire is to do your will.  I desire to be pleasing in your eyesight.

I know you know what I need but my needs or my wants are not greater than your presence in my life.

Father, continue to teach me to worship you for who you are.

Daddy, thank you for listening to me and even while in the midst of my sorrow, you give me strength to move pass my pain and pour into the lives of those who need a Word of encouragement.

Again, it is not about me.....
Your will be done
In my earth,
In my life,
It's in your hands
So I'll trust you

Wedded Bliss!

Today my hubby and I joined friends in the union of one of my big brothers and his now beautiful wife. It's amazing to have been afforded the ability t receive the love of God an then be fortunate to share that love with someone God fashioned for us as a mate.

That someone you converse with, let your hair down with, laugh and cry with.  Aside from being completely naked with whether dimples or wrinkles...they are someone that does not care as long it's you that they are sharing it with.

Seeing them today just reminded me how Adam must have felt when God created Eve to be his life long mate.  I gaze at my husband and am reminded as well how much God loves me to have the opportunity to share the rest of my life with my best friend and lover.

He taught me intimacy between a man and wife I could have never imagined.  He loves me, is turned on by not only my body but my mind and spirit.

I used to think marriage was not the perfect match for me but God allowed me to experience different.

God allowed me to not only hear about the perfect union between a man and wife but allowed me to be the recipient of a marital union.

I was about to forfeit the opportunity to learn how to love again by settling with independence and depending only on the lower extremity of a male but God has allowed me to experience my husband's heart.

God has allowed me to become one or become one flesh with a man I had not sought after but one He purposed for me.  He truly gives s all that we need.  Even if God decided not to send me a mate, I would have been thankful but in His infinite wisdom, He saw fit to weave the sanctity of marriage into my life.

I am thankful that God challenged my thinking on marriage because everything that God has made is good and yes, if in my singlehood God would have gotten glory then so be it, but I am grateful that in His infinite plan that I have had the opportunity not by word of mouth.

I was able to taste for myself much like my encounter with Jesus that marriage is good and I am grateful that along with the other testimonies in my arsenal, there is yet another....the witness of wedded bliss!
